I used to go downtown to pick up and drop off one of my seasonal employees so that he could get to work and home without riding the bus for two hours. He lived a few blocks away from the train tracks near the rescue mission homeless shelter. He said that an average of one homeless person a month to two months gets hit by the train. Why they don't look before crossing just leaves me dumbfounded. It never makes the news. The only way that the outside world has any clue what happened is that there is a train stopped for a few hours while the case work is filled out.
