I think you're just screwed, but I always used standard design wipers when I had my old '88. Maybe one of the types like a Bosch Icon that just looks like a single curved blade might be better?
But even with the Bosch, the bulk of the curve is in the middle, not at the ends, so you're still probably screwed.
I would very much recommend reversing the park. I think that would "fix" the issue for you. Because then the missed spot will be on the other side of the windshield.

I drove my 911 daily. I remember one time having water coming up the hood between the headlights because I was driving through deep water. It wasn't actually THAT deep, it just built up in front of the car until it got up onto the hood.
