When I got my 914 ('75), it had bolts force threaded into the holes and they would back out from time to time. I explained my problem to the local Porche repair shop and they gave me these little plugs just for that purpose. Even though the threads where stripped on mine too, the plugs threaded in and have never been a problem. They looked like eighth inch pipe plugs that use an allen wrench to tighten them.
