It does come down to a matter of personal preference. No doubt the newer car has better performance, but is it as enjoyable to take out for a drive?
For me personally, I prefer the older cars. There are times I wish I had a newer coupe so I could drive it more than I do my old Targa, but every time I take the Targa out it becomes special.
It's all about smiles per mile; choose accordingly.
