1975 Porsche 911 Targa
Been having cold start issues since I bought the car and decided to start with the thermo valve and vacuum lines. I also think I have some boost leaks so I wanted to replace the dump valve gaskets and all the boost pipe gaskets. I started taking stuff off to get to the dump valve gasket and located two thermo valves.
Both had electrical connections but this one was not connected to any vacuum lines.
My engine code is 930/61 but I think it has some Cali CIS parts for some reason. I also took the thermo valves off and both tested good. I left them as is until I could figure out the correct vacuum line routing and moved to the dump valve.
I was able to get the dump valve (BOV) off and only half the gasket was there.
Dump valve gaskets went in without issues. I also found out that the vacuum line from the distributor should be routed to the 2nd thermo valve I found unconnected then routed to the throttle body. I was going to stop there but I really don't like the airbox and how much of a pain it is to remove/install. I read you can use a k&n air filter with a universal top making AFR adjustments easier. Going to order one to see if I can clean up the engine.
