Years ago my adopted niece went on a road trip with my Mom. Niece is full blood Sioux indian and was in her late 20's. They both had a great time, but my Mom had a heck of a time convincing the niece it was not a good idea to just squat and go no matter where she was. The niece claimed the indians had been doing that long before the white man came. Mom had to explain it wasn't a modesty issue, that with so many more people it was a health concern.
