I put salad on my burgers. Just no pickles.
One of the reasons I like using brown and serve rolls besides the fresh out of the oven goodness is they are the same size as a typical slice of tomato or onion for a lot less messy burger experience.
Mixing the peppers and onions in the burger before cooking makes it taste different.
Mushrooms and Swiss cheese is also pretty good.
Mushrooms, peppers, onions, and cheese all make good burger mixers.
