The first movie theater I remember was in downtown San Marcos, TX. In my mind it was a two mile bike ride but according to the current Google Earth view it was just 6 blocks. I am guessing they shrank the area with magic or something.
We used to ride our bikes down there on Saturday morning for the manatee. 25 cents for the ticket and 40 cents for a coke, popcorn and some sugar babies. We got to see a newsreel, cartoon, a serial, previews and then a movie.
We just parked our bikes along side the theater with no bike locks. We never ever locked the house either.
