I wouldn't have thought this happened very often...until last month. My Turbo went to the body shop after I hit the car battery on the freeway. I know it went there with almost a full tank of gas. I picked it up with 1/4 tank. I checked the paperwork when I dropped it off. They put almost 80 miles on it! My roommate second year of college had a 1987 Trans Am. It was a nice car at the time for a college freshmen (his first year). He said that when he would take it anywhere for anything, he would tape a note to the steering wheel with the mileage and some sort of note about it. He was from NJ, and from what I remember, the text of the note was a little obnoxious. I always figured he was just asking for trouble, but at the same time, he may have also been preventing some trouble.
