The whole Jake Raby? things just seams odd with all the cheerleaders chiming in on how great he is. How is he coming of as a super hero with building an engine that failed with not that many miles after the rebuild. they keep mentioning how many years has gone by but what does that matter.. The best part he goes on and on about himself and how busy he is but is on there writing paragraphs. He then explains how how it doesn't need a rebuild it needs engine work??

The whole thing just is odd. Why would the seller have mentioned his name and left it open like that??

When you Google his name you see that customers have had issues with his arrogance and he even posted a picture of himself laughing at a customer that had issues.

Sorry, I just can't stand these made up forum superhero's that never seam to live up to their hype.

$14k for a car needing $10k in engine work??
Well, $10-12K in engine work plus downtime and transport to/from, and the 'while we're in there' stuff. Pretty unusual for a custom built engine to have dramatic problems like this with so few miles since rebuild.

Seems to me there are several prominent custom Porsche engine builders out there and most have massive egos. When builds go bad, the better shops step up and own it. But I can see a lot of deflection in Raby's posts on BaT that jive with what I've heard about the shop. My sense is that if I were a bidder, I wouldn't give Raby a second bite of the apple.
