Ayles your father is a true hero. Viet Nam was 'my war'. No I wasn't in the service as I was literally 2 years to young but I remember coming home from school in the late 60s early 70s and turning on the TV. Draft numbers would run along the bottom of the screen. My older brother had his draft number and we'd sit there and watch to see if he got drafted, (never did but joined the Navy after high school). Not sure how much you know about the war but unlike today those service men came back to protests, name calling, you name it. Nothing like today's heroes. I hope your Dad didn't have to deal much with that.
