Even set me up for a carrier landing and was able to trap successfully. The two instructor pilots were screwing with each other by challenging themselves to the most jacked up scenarios possible. Very impressive to see a successful capture in a gail force low vis thunderstorm, one engine, failed instruments and control issues along with a pitching and rolling deck. Now I'm not a Navy guy but long ago a Navy pilot said that a carrier landing is like trying to lick a postage stamp in the middle of your living room , in the dark as you get a running start and then jump trying to hit it with your tongue.
I tip my hat to all of you carrier guys n gals
A good two part PBS story on pitching decks.
