That's awesome, Tom! Please convey to your grandfather our utmost respect and gratitude for his service.
Please let him know that my Mom, a WWII vet, just turned 94, and is still in her own house and still driving as well.
Here's Mom and Dad 6 months after they got married. Photo taken in June 1946 right after the war. He was an Ensign and stayed in the Navy until 1959 (a 20 year stint).
And here's Mom on her 94th birthday. I asked her to hold up one of the current books she was reading.
The greatest generation....you bet they were.
