I could have bought a nice complete '66 912 with not matching engine on a pallet. Colour change, but no rust, perfect chrome, interior, with a tank cut in for a /6, etc....real nice car.
I passed on it because of above and it was only a 912. 
About 7 years ago, I could have picked it up for less than $9K
