I did this a couple of weeks ago so my memory is fresh.
The clutch slave cylinder bolts are the right size but you should get a spare bolt.
Screw it into the end of the shaft through an 8mm box wrench. Remove the lock bolt from the belhousing ( the small bolt an inch or so up the housing from the end of the shaft).
Keep turning the bolt after it is fully screwed in. You are trying to turn the shaft at this point. Keep turning while pulling down on the boz wrench. The shaft will gradually screw out. This will damage the threads on the bolt but probably not enough to stop you from reusing it.
Clean or replace the bearings on the release fork when you get that far. Clean and grease the shaft before you reinstall it and it will slide in with no effort at all.
