Here's something to consider. The age of consent in Texas is 17, yet the victim is still a legal minor. Let's move the scenario to college. If this was a 17 y.o. college freshman that she had a relationship with, would this be a crime, or is it a crime because he is still in high school where it is illegal to drop out until you are 18?
