I am not sure if I post this on the right forum.

I purchased my car from a guy who used to owned a garage. He had a lien on the car , did all the paperwork properly but never send them to DMV for title. The papers are dated 1997.

I have all the original papers including a Garageman bill of sale from him to myself.

I called a title service agency in Albany, asking them to review if all are correct and ill send them the originals for processing. I was told that I have to send them the originals, They will not review copies (sounds fishy to me ) these are my only paperwork and I don't want to send them out and get caught in a fiasco.

I was also told that DMV may not honor them because they are dated 1997

I don't know how to proceed, I am sure some of you have been there.

anyone with experience, Please help!
