That seal was a PITA! It comes with double sided tape pre-installed, but has a tendency to move a bit, which results in the black bead waving in and out from in between the tail and the deck lid, even with the bolts cinched down tight. The rivets are absolutely essential to prevent any movement, especially around the tight radii. I ended up buying a box of two piece low profile threaded aluminum rivets, and added a couple more on each side in addition to the factory locations. Worked like a charm—the bead is even and tight.
