I agree that this is a stupid fad that is induced by a TV show. The only time the tiny house makes any sense is on a permanent foundation in a major urban area where land is super expensive, and buying a small lot saves you money. That gives you a true site-built house for a lower acquisition cost. Otherwise the same money will buy you a much bigger and nicer mobile home that can be installed into either a park or a foundation on your own land, or a bigger and nicer RV or 5th wheel that you can move regularly and park wherever you damn well please.

Then how do you feel about small, permanently constructed shipping container homes. Our plan is to be ultra efficient and low maintenance. We can retire early if we cut back on our monthly expenditures. You've seen our house, it's not exactly energy efficient!
And KC, having an older significant other means you think about things more. I will be semi retired at 40, by our plans, so we can travel and enjoy life while we can.
