A few months ago I posted on here about the possibilty of building our retirement home . But after crunching numbers the rise in building/material costs made it out of our price range . While we were thinking about building we were also looking at existing homes . My wife and I lost count after the 60th home !
But aprox. two weeks ago we found it

A simple 3/2 ranch style with full basement on 2.4 acres just outside of Dahlonega Georgia . We will be 8 miles from downtown yet out in the country . We have about 8 neighbors and each home owner has at least 2 acres or more so not stacked like cord wood
The lot is about 3/4 open with scattered trees and 1/4 full woods around the perimeter so a nice natural barrier . I am planning on retiring the first quarter of next year at the ripe old age of 60 so we will slowly start moving stuff each weekend and then hire a pro mover for the " big " move . We will have a nice home in Marietta to sell with a great 3 car detached man cave !!! My wife ( already retired ) and I are excited about this next stage of our lives . My wife retired a little over 2 years ago from Lockheed Martin after 30 years of service and I'll be retiring with 26 years from LM also . I am ready to start enjoying a simpler pace of life I have been working since I was 15.........45 years is enough for me
