Hey 924 - I think you've made some troubleshooting progress. You might save some time though if you shoot a couple squirts of oil into all the cylinders and run another compression test. The compression numbers you had reported earlier were way low. Even better, a "Leak Down Test" would verify where the cylinders are leaking.

Just make sure to have a hot battery, all the spark plugs are removed and cylinders oiled, the throttle is held wide open and you turn the motor over until the Psi numbers reach max. Repeat the test for extremely low cylinders. For a 84 Euro 928, an experienced 928 mechanic says the cold & oiled cylinder compression on your car should all be 170+ for a healthy engine. Over 200 Psi preferred.

Pull the electrical connector off of the ignition/fuel computers for safety....
