I feel your frustration.
A few years back I was seeing a girl who had a house in Charlotte. I had a house in Augusta where the company I worked for was located. She was a consultant, so it didn't really matter where she was based.
We got married, she sold her place and moved to Augusta. One year later, almost to the day, my company decided they're relocating their HQ. Guess where?
Yup, Charlotte.
