I just looked at thermostats on Amazon, The Nest is 250 bucks!
As I said, I don't see any need for a internet connected thermostat. My wife is retired and home most of the day. The only real programming I do is to lower the heater at night when we are in bed under blankets. I want it to warm the house a little before the alarm goes off. In the summer of cooling mode it is the reverse. We turn the temp up and sleep under the ceiling fan to stay cool. Cool of the house more as I am getting up and around to go to work.
For our needs I can't fathom any reason for a internet connected thermostat, refrigerator, toaster, microwave or any kitchen appliance. I will never have a video camera INSIDE the house. I have 6 cameras outside.
