How to bench test oil level sender

So I got a used oil tank and sender and have the sender out of the oil tank while I am cleaning it. The sender is dated 1994. I want to check the sender before I re-install the tank.

I don't have a full wiring harness at present so I can't connect to the gauge to calibrate the sender.

Is there any way to bench test the sender without having an operative vehicle? Perhaps measure the resistance in ohms at full max and min ranges? Does anyone know what the specs are for that?

Or apply 12 volts and wire the gauge in to the circuit?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
