I considered buying this car and decided that if you are looking for a car to drive and enjoy this is a good deal. If you ever anticipate selling it you will be in the same boat as this seller. Do not count on any numbers anywhere on this car as I already discussed that at length with the seller. With that said I highly doubt anyone would ever be able to legally prove that this is their car. The seller mentioned that the DMV knew of the original VIN number but would not disclose that to him or the previous owner which leads me to think that they would have been able to determine whether it was currently a stolen vehicle or not. Im thinking more of a theft recovery that the insurance company then sold at auction after cashing out their insured
