About 30 years ago there was one of those glass phone booths for a coin operated public phone located in front of the mixed-use building I was living in.

One night I heard a loud crash from inside my third floor apartment, looked outside and didn't see anything.

The next morning I noticed the phone booth had been wiped out buy a drunk driver that just kept on going, some tire tracks, oil and radiator fluid but the car/truck made it out of the area.

Had someone been making a phone call, there would have been a dead body.
