Theft recovery with a washed title?
Law enforcement can extract the engine and tranny numbers. Still will never look original but could also prove originality. Secondary ID numbers can also prove identity of the vehicle. Highly doubtful those were removed.
I would think if a state issues a title they would know the story and that the theft is resolved.
If you unfortunate enough to live in a state like Washington state that forces out of state vehicles to be inspected by the state patrol, this car wouldnt be worth it. The cops have the authority to not issue a title for a couple years if they don't like what they see.
