Leakdown on TDC should confirm if valves. Air escaping thru intake or exhaust. Bad rings will blow air thru oil fill hole.
Just wondering on staggered compression if there is a chance it is ONLY timing. Other than only timing my customer will opt for another beater vs a repair.
I suppose I should get off my butt and do a little more diag work.................
Also, customer did hear ugly "noises" right before it quit. Chain is still connected.
