if the tire has been stored under the floor its whole life it is still most likely usable (shielded from UV which hurts rubber).
I have test inflated my 944 spare a few times to 30-40psi, i forget what it says on the sidewall but once it starts to inflate you will see it.
if you wanted a newer possible replacement the 4-wheel-drive 996 model 911 (1997-2004) also had a collapsible tire on a 16 or 17" wheel about the same width/overall diameter as the 944/928 tire.
