The black plastic "sleeve" over the fuel line connection at the fuel rail has to be pushed into the metal fitting on the end of the rubber fuel line hose from the tank. No special tools needed, as with so many other types of "quick disconnect" fuel ines these days. Also, on an R56 base model Mini Cooper, the fuel line does not need to be repalced when the fuel rail is changed, unlike the Min Cooper S turbo R56 cars. Hope this helps someone out, since the Pelican folks never seem to have performed this repair.
Correct, I am not familiar with it on the NA models myself, hence the posting for the manual. Thank you for sharing your method. How about you post your findings as a comment at the bottom of our article for the turbocharged R56 here: MINI Cooper R56 Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Replacement (2007-2011) | Pelican Parts DIY Maintenance Article as it may assist R56 NA owners who need to tackle this job as well. I'm sure many will appreciate your additional input/experience with the removal.
