Worst: 1990 325i bought brand new.
My list of things wrong with the car never seemed to shrink. I'd leave it at the dealership and pick it up when "done" and it would be the same. Must've made more than 20 trips to get it fixed. Finally wrote to the president of BMW USA who sent the regional service manager to meet me. I pointed out the engine bucking and flopping around at idle (it always felt like it was about to die). He said 'that's not so bad, look at this one/ and started another 325 that bucked and flopped worse.
Also, the dealer treatment always reflected that I'd bought the next-to-cheapest car they sold. The lot boys used it to shuttle to the dirt lot where they were keeping customer cars. My car was black and always was filthy when I picked it up.
Over the course of less than a year, 3 different people ran into that car. 1 had insurance.
Best: 1973.5 T sunroof coupe bought in '77. Silver with full lobster leather interior including sport seats.
