It's hard to believe I've put nearly 17,000 miles on the car now. I did the valves just a few hundred miles into ownership so it was overdue!
It's amazing how much better the car idles and revs after doing the valves. I used the Kirk Engineering tool this time. Much easier!

So, with everything adjusted we did a 300 miles loop down to Tucson to ride mountain bikes. I will admit that on the way home it was 97F out so the temps increased to the point where I was a bit worried. It was running at about 240F. I know the strong winds and 2 bikes on the roof weren't helping so I decided to sit in the slow lane and take it a bit easier.
Maybe it's time for a thermostat or to install the little front oil cooler snorkel.
