Now that I've slept on it I am no longer upset, I just think the guy was mistaken.
I can't find any evidence of repairs and added 15 photos of the left rear of the car from every angle that support my conclusion.
BAT was very helpful in approving the additional photos quickly.
In retrospect I was more upset about the possibility that something managed to escape my eye for five years of crawling around, in, out, and underneath the car. Then I realized how great the car is and how strong of an emotional attachment I have to it. And now I regret putting it up for sale. Ah, c'est la vie.
