Cinco de Mayo
Is NOT Mexican Independence day (September 16th, 1810)
Is it NOT Revolution day (November 20th, 1910)
It is a celebration of the Battle of Puebla, which Mexican forces eventually lost a year later leading to the establishment of the Mexican Empire under French domination.
No one in Mexico really cares about Cinco de Mayo...except the bars near the US border.
