If you want to build a 911 long hood, you can always buy a roller or chassis, fix whatever issues they have and then build that. I'm not sure that it makes sense to build a 911 for much the same reason as stated near the beginning of this thread. To really simplify, building a 356 is like building a sporty bug, building a 911 is a completely different animal, much higher performance and limits and cost. And you wouldn't save much money if any building something closer to a 912. The best market for a 911 repro is probably something like a singer.
