I was battling old b-ball injuries from my youth for several years, both left knee and extremely weak ankles, particularly the right one. About 18 months ago, I got a pair of Danner hunting boots, and later added a pair of the Dr. Scholl's inserts (the ones where you stand on the machine for analysis)...around $50. They have made a huge difference, and I've resigned myself to the fact that I will never be able to wear low-top shoes again....my ankles will roll over if I step on a shadow
. Added another pair of boots, but the swapping was a pain....I have another pair of cheap inserts that I use in moccosins that I wear around the house....my barefeet daze are over too. The Scholl's were showing some wear....particularly when a muskrat hole collapsed and I was knee deep in water....oh well. I've just ordered two different types of Danner inserts from Midway USA....one looks similar to the Scholl's, and the others appear like they are built to last forever. Bottom line now....I have happy feet
. I walk a LOT....hope the Danner's work as well as the Dr's do....if not $50 per pair is worth it periodically imo.
