Kent..basically if you take the valve covers of and see oil inside the cover on place where it does not meet the rocker arms you have a loose rocker shaft-pins.While at it make sure there are in the correct place as on picture above.
The o rings is nice up-date but not really necessary.I have done plenty of engines and did not use the o rings and never had an oil leak.
But is all about the maintenance.Like for example if you have engine tune up ,valve adjustment it is good to check the shafts.Also after a rebuild it is important to check these pins......and so on....
