I get a $4900 net over 30 years, but I still have several questions. My peak runs north-south roughly, so the two sloping faces face east and west. I bet that would reduce the amount of electricity generated, compared to south facing. Also, being in Anchorage, snow would cover the panels for a portion of the year. On the other hand, the tiles look slick, even the textured ones, that would allow the snow to slide off more easily (like a metal roof), and I would have to plan for that. You don't want large amounts of snow sliding off on to cars or people. Even if the snow slid off and didn't damage anything, there would still be frost covering a portion of the tiles, preventing sunlight from hitting the cells. The website is not meant to be a detailed estimate, but details must be considered.
