I know of two personal situations where no frat house was involved yet one person died from over consumption and another could easily have died had he not been so drunk and relaxed.
The question that needs to be answered is, "are drinking practices on campus better or worse that 20 or 30 years ago. Seems these events/deaths from alcohol are more frequent at least in the news today.
Very sad to see this happening.

Oh, people certainly die from over-consumption on campuses outside of fraternities. No question about that. What makes this case different is that the deceased was ordered to over-consume and then ignored when unconscious and injured. I don't know that that happens outside of a fraternity.
