I'm putting a truck I own back together after rebuilding the engine and need to lube the pilot bearing. It is a needle bearing, I don't think it's OEM. The flywheel and clutch were changed from dual mass to solid flywheel at some point before I bought it.
The owner's manual calls for a special Ford 4x4 wheel bearing grease for the pilot but the local dealer doesn't have it in stock and I think that the original pilot was a bushing, (as opposed to bearing), anyways. There is a Ford spec for the grease, I could dig it up.
I have several different types of grease on hand from moly paste to wheel bearing grease to chassis lube stuff. What should I use?
