when looking for a shop i have gone over this countless times in the past .

1st off it's not just the painter a quality paint job starts right at the bare metal and continues thru out the job until you get the car back .

to replicate the OE finish is not a hard thing to do . but sadly many shop color sand and buff the finishes until they are as flat as glass . they may look good but they are not right .
so you have to find a shop that will work with you 1st in cost and then to the quality you are looking for . if your looking for supper high quality you have to have pretty much an open check book . the reason is the prep time going into a spray and do not touch it ( no color sanding ) finish .
one piece of dust will ruin the hole panel . the difference between the factory painting a car and a shop is in the factory only the car is in the booth and if you look at the production lines of cars being painted they are not like a single car in a shop being painted .

it's the workers in the shops that make for quality work not the nice guy in the office . workers can come and go from shops so a shop may have a good rep but they got it from the workers in the shop . if a worker leaves and they replace him the quality may also no longer be there at that shop .
