About time for an update...
Car has officially been stripped. A few areas we knew about but naturally a few more showed up to join the party. The end result...WE ARE BACKDATING!!! Many reasons changed our minds. Mainly the front end is just plain rotted. If we are going to buy a new nose, pan, fenders and hood...why not get '73 parts! On a side note...if someone knows of a lwb front clip I would love to find one. We need it from the front shock towers forward. Another reason to backdate is the car has a build date of 1973! Yes, it is an early 1974 short hood body...very early...but before you purists scream at me, let me remind you. This car has been hit, it has been painted, the interior was swapped, the flares are not original, we don't have the original deck lid, the motor was swapped...and as we have more recently discovered...the sunroof is NOT original! Wow...this car had some extensive work done back in the early '90s! So, essentially what we are doing is taking an outlaw and outlawing it! The plan is to build a '73 long hood RSR tribute. Lightweight, fast, stripped down and oh...FAST! We have a vision (including color scheme) in our heads and while the build will take some time, we are excited!
