The plot thickens. I told my friend that it's a nice car and Mrs WD loved it, but it needed work and we don't need another project. He called back a few hours later and asked what it needed and said he would call the dealer and get an estimate and either adjust the price or have them fix it.
The list I gave him:
bearing noise/growling from the rear
engine running on 5 cylinders
rubber suspension bushings
fan belt
rust in door sill
