all that metal being shifted around by the oil.
Is there enough room for a skinny magnet to be pushed in when the sump plate is out - to attract other loose bits. Or even get a finger in there to feel for metal sludge.
I have some spare round magnets I pulled out of an old microwave oven - I think I will go put one on my sump plate. |

The sump plate oil wasn't sludgy it was the inside the dry sump which once you put your finger inside and run it around was all pasty and sludgy
