Isn't that the point with that sort of thing?
I believe it was Motion who mentioned in a thread that driving an electric car was night and day different from any IC vehicle because of the lack of noise, you arrive relaxed with no stress. It sounded like the automotive equivalent of napping in a Lazy-boy recliner which is probably fine for some thing and some folks, and may never be fine for others.
I had one (Tesla, think it was an 85 something or another) try to play with me a week or two ago in the Boxster. I wasn't trying to play with him. I pulled off like I usually do (which is very briskly compared to the other 99%) and he shot ahead in a cacophony of silence. I did give it a bit more juice, but at that spot, you only go 50-80' before the road goes into an off-camber curve and the pavement there is VERY slick, so I definitely hung back in case either one of us did any sliding.
His car may be fast or faster away from a light, but mine sounds spectacular and is much, much more fun and engaging to drive. There's always someone out there with a car that's faster than yours.
