Yeah, it's tough to catch the moon with a phone, I've tried several times. I'd love to do astrophotography, but between the light pollution and the fact that I don't have a tracking mount, it's tough.
The easy subject.
These were both taken when we were having an extra super moon. One of these days, I want to catch the moon as it's still between some buildings, but that only happens two times a year, I would assume near the equinoxes, equiniis?
The moon over downtown. Another pain, getting the buildings exposed nicely without killing the moon. This one still has the moon blown out, but overall, the shot seems ok.
The Moon and Venus over downtown just before sunrise. It's just about impossible with a digital camera to get the dark side of the moon without having the sliver WAY overexposed. I'm guessing this worked because of the not quite dark, but also not quite light conditions.
The Moon and Venus at about 10am, 7 Dec, 2015.
