When it comes to buying cheap tools or contraptions w moving parts, (or even without), using local CL for used stuff from 10 or 20 years ago is a lot better than buying new. Even stuff made in China from 10 years ago was better, it's like they no longer have anything to prove and it shows.

If you can find an honest to God *made in USA* jack from 30+ years ago, it's a red letter day. The hydraulics can be rebuilt for pennies, (o-rings), the rest is built to last and a pleasure to own and use.
