Slave cylinder, check that. Clutch master cylinder, which is a ***** to replace, check that and yes, the clutch master is supplied by the brake fluid resivior. My clutch master died so while I was at it I also changed out the slave. Look for brake fluid leaking around these components. My master was actualy leaking under the dash above the pedals. Not going to rule out other clutch problems, but it sounds like hydrualics related to the clutch.
