With that in mind, I hope all have the good sense not to mention the defence vis-à-vis championships thing. Till Sunday....

Can't disagree with you on any of what you've written. What I bolded reminds me of the double OT game seven between the Devils and Rangers in 1994. That sucker was epic even though it wasn't for the Cup.
