The thing that makes it all even more interesting is that this could not be done without math and yet math is not a natural function of the human brain. There are cultures in the world where they have no words for numbers rather using words such as 'some' or 'few' or 'many'. Our numbering systems are base 5, 10 or 20 for the obvious reasons and time is based on base 60 which is rather obscure but understandable given the rotation of the Earth and orbit around the Sun.
Understanding our reality requires numbers. Predicting physical events requires numbers. Without the math we may not have been able to survive or thrive.
